Here Lisa, Reese, and Ronin are enjoying a game of boggle. My niece Lisa, is incredibly patient with the boys. We love her so much and are so thankful the gifts the Lord has given her and her willingness to share herself with us.

Who here doesn't need patience????

Proverbs 17:9 He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.

When I overlook a perceived offence committed against me or my family I am seeking love. I desire peace in my home, my church, and my relationships. Do you ever find yourself getting annoyed by every little thing? What!!!??? the socks on the floor again!!! Why can't "they" ever clean up after themselves???!!! They always....They never..... This kind of thinking is a spiral and cesspool into self. I tell ya, I hate when I go there. I do not like myself or anyone around me..much less love them!!! Is there someone in your home, life, church that just rubs you the wrong way? How are you going to seek love with them? How are you going to be broken so that our Savior's light may shine through your cracks? Will you child en see? Your husband? Your nursery supervisor? Lord, give me your grace and love to cover (look over) a trespass that I may seek to love others as you love me. Keep me and my tongue from bringing up past offences that will alienated those you have in my life. May this vessel be broken that you my gracious Redeemer will shine through and through. I love you. In Jesus Name, Amen

For the love of a good biscuit

I made biscuits and gravy the other day. I am so impressed with this biscuit recipe I had to share.

Mile High Biscuits

3 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
41/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 c. Crisco solid or butter ( I use butter)
1 beaten egg
1 c. milk
Stir together all dry ingredients. Cut in shortening (butter). Mis egg and milk; add all at once stirringjust to make soft dough. Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knedad 10-15 tiems. Pat out to be one-inch thickness. Cut into biscuits and place on ungreased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart. Bake at 425 degrees for 12- 15 minutes.

Today I looked out the window to see a flock of Cedar Waxwing birds in our burning bush. Just a reminder of the beauty of my Lord! It is icky out the snow is dirty and iced over, so it was nice to see a bird so beautiful and I had never see them before!

January 2011

Wow, the Holiday season is over. The season brought much joy and heartache. Joy because Jesus came from Heaven born as babe and laid in a manger. He came to pay a debt I could never pay. He came to die for me. He took on himself my sins when he hung on the cross of Calvary. When I die or if the Lord should come before, I will be in Heaven. Not because of anything I have done, but because Christ was perfect and I am not. "Be ye perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect." I don't fit that bill, and I don't know anyone that can. But I know my Savior. I hope you do to. This is the reason I have joy and peace in my soul. Christmas IS The MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF YEAR...well besides RESURRECTION SUNDAY!!!! :) He paid it all. Amen.

Heartache because my dear Father-in-love succumbed to ALS. He died on Dec. 17th. He was surrounded with loved ones. He was such a wonderful giving man. He could make me laugh and scream at the same time. He loved to agitate. He was so much fun to be around. Reese told him he was the best Granpa ever! And he was right. He is missed. As the schedule has slowed down, I feel my grief for this enormous loss. I pray for Colleen as I know she mourns deeply, although she is a great encouragement in all this. God has given that woman a strenth that points to Christ. I love her dearly.
